Esquif - Huron 16 LITE

A lower profile isn't a compromise -- on a recreational canoe used mostly on flatwater and calm rivers, it's an advantage. The Huron 16 shares its mould with the Prospecteur 16 but sits notably lower in the water, shedding weight and catching less wind in the process. For cottagers and recreational paddlers who don't need the full depth of a tripping canoe, that's a meaningful difference on a breezy lake day.

At 55 lbs in T-Formex Lite, it's light enough to manage comfortably and durable enough to live at the cottage, get dragged up a rocky shore, and come back next season looking the same as it left. The 900 lb payload gives it plenty of room for two paddlers and a day's worth of gear, and the hollow yoke makes portaging or loading onto a roof rack easier on the shoulders.

Vinyl trim comes standard, with wood trim available for those who prefer the classic look. A tandem or solo kit can be added to configure the seating for how you actually paddle.
